When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), and profile picture. If you register as an event organizer, we may also collect your business name and bank account details for payouts.
Payment Data
When you purchase tickets, payment information is processed by our third-party payment providers (Paystack, Flutterwave). We do not store your full card details. We retain transaction records including amounts, dates, and references for accounting purposes.
Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Platform, including pages visited, events viewed, search queries, ticket purchases, and the dates and times of your visits.
Device Data
We collect information about the device you use to access the Platform, including device type, operating system, browser type, IP address, and unique device identifiers for security and fraud prevention purposes.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Platform
- Process ticket purchases and refunds
- Send transaction confirmations, tickets, and receipts
- Communicate with you about events, updates, and promotions (with your consent)
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
- Generate anonymized analytics to improve event discovery and recommendations
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following circumstances:
Payment Processors
We share necessary transaction data with Paystack and Flutterwave to process your payments securely. These providers have their own privacy policies governing how they handle your data.
Event Organizers
When you purchase a ticket, the event organizer receives your name, email address, and ticket details to manage event attendance. Organizers are prohibited from using this data for purposes unrelated to the event.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government regulation, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of StageCrown, our users, or the public.
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
- Secure authentication with session management
- Rate limiting and bot detection to prevent abuse
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Access controls limiting employee access to personal data
While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Your Rights (NDPR Compliance)
In accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification: You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Right to Data Portability: You may request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. Specifically:
- Account data is retained until you delete your account
- Transaction records are retained for 7 years for accounting and legal compliance
- Usage and device data is retained for up to 24 months
- Inactive accounts may be deleted after 36 months of inactivity with prior notice
Upon account deletion, we will remove or anonymize your personal data within 90 days, except where retention is required by law.
